Blesma meet!

Today I had the pleasure of meeting several members of Blesma: 3 injured veterans and 2 of their staff.

To say it was an experience that I will remember is an understatement, not only is Blesma a charity, but they are a genuine community that helps the people it serves to no end. They welcomed me in like I was one of their own as I was immediately greeted by handshakes, smiling faces and that staple military banter.

We sat and discussed stories of their times serving, including how they ended up without the use of their limbs and it was an incredibly eye-opening experience for me as a civilian to see just how censored our lives can be. Hearing and seeing the raw emotion as I spoke to them all was nothing short of amazing.

We will soon be releasing a podcast style video where I sat and learnt more about the organisation, their community and how the charity operates. We get the in-depth scoop on what it’s really like to lose the use of limbs.

Thank you to the guys at Blesma for being so kind and chatting with me as if I had known you for years. It was an honour to meet you guys.

Thank you to LDN UTD for putting us up for the day and letting us use your wonderful facilities! (@LDNUTD)
